The October 2022 Local Trust Committee (LTC) election results on Salt Spring, and elsewhere in the Trust Area, significantly increase the potential for further erosion of the Trust mandate and founding documents. The entire raison d’être for the Islands Trust is at stake.

• Please monitor Salt Spring LTC meetings. This can be done online or by viewing the meeting recordings — it is not necessary to attend meetings in person. Hold trustees publicly accountable for their voting decisions, speak at LTC meetings when possible, write letters, and, above all, do not stay silent.
• Trust Council meets quarterly. Please monitor these meetings online or by viewing the meeting recordings — it is not necessary to attend meetings in person.
