Eight of the 15 candidates running for election participated in Transition Salt Spring’s online LCC Forum on May 9. You can view the video recording online.
A brief reminder about why the LCC Elections are so vitally important:
After May 27, 2023 decisions about most of Salt Spring’s local CRD services, facilities, and budgets previously made by CRD staff and the Salt Spring CRD Director will be made by the elected LCC. The new LCC will have five Commissioners in total, the four to be elected on May 27 plus the CRD Director. The first Commissioners will establish how the LCC will operate and will set the stage for years to come. Electing suitable candidates for this task is critical. It is crucial that good people get elected.
Many thanks to everyone for your concern and help in these final weeks of the campaign.
